Omaha Beach... You Are Big.

A little adventure from our French holidays...

Omaha Beach. On a sunny day you could imagine the memorial monuments gone and it would just be a beautiful beach.

But it isn't just a beautiful beach...

Parents think a lot about the world they leave for their children. About the footprints we make on this planet and in the hearts and minds of each other. The impressions we leave will be lived by our babies.
It's easy to feel small at home. Easy to feel like the reach of what you're doing is small. Easy to feel irrelevant. Easy to watch her stuff Weetabix up her nose and focus on how small she is. But nothing here is actually small. Or it doesn't have to be.
Like with all these BIG things; we know them, but it's good for us all to remember them every so often. Remember our child are big, the love we show them is big, kisses for no reason are big, the love they feel is big.
Because one day they'll take everything they were given forward. It'll be there in the impressions they make.
SO GO FEEL BIG!!
Rather appropriately I just read this and loved "Do those things that incline you toward the big questions, and avoid the things that would reduce you and make you trivial."
