Witness, Record and Celebrate

She's growing a LOT at the moment. Everyday this week has brought a new first. She's blowing raspberries, she's started really "chatting" and responding to vocal interaction, the crawling is faster and more efficient everyday, the dexterity in her hands and fingers improves every meal... I can't keep up.

So many firsts. It's overwhelming.

It's overwhelming to think everyday holds a potential first and it's my responsibility to witness, record and celebrate it. To do the event justice. To fumble over a world of domestic normalities and with no warning step out of them and absorb this life FIRST. These are the milestones of her life, of her existence. Of course I am aware that whilst she is blowing her first raspberry as are thousands of other babies around the world. But for her it's an authentic breakthrough in her development and I could not feel more blessed to be witnessing it.

That's it. I guess that's in no means much more than a half baked thought. It's just where I am tonight. She's growing and I get to be a part of the wondrous ordinary miracle that is how babies grow up. The exceptional part is it's MY baby growing up.

Imagine what she'll do tomorrow...

I love you darling girl.

  6. Visiting from the RTF blog hop! She is too adorable. My youngest is 15 months and wanting to do everything big brother does... too soon in my opinion. I'm following via GFC, hope you'll visit and return the favor.
