"The Essential One" Maternity Pyjamas Review

I don't write reviews a lot. Really I only write when I get something that makes me think I need to share how awesome this is! The latest addition to my wardrobe is one of those items...

Now I am far from busting out of my clothes with a humungous bump but normal waistbands across my middle aren't the comfiest anymore... Least of all at bedtime. So I decided to invest in some maternity pyjamas.

When looking I found the selection painfully limited, so my expectations were measured to I'll be happy with something that'll just "do". Also worth mentioning I rarely order from anywhere without a high street shop where I can return items if they're not right. So for me to take a leap and order from a site without a shop and a site I have never even heard of was a reasonable one for me.

But oooooh I am pleased I did...

The Essential One is a small family owned business who "specialise in baby's first year". They offer beautiful, quality versions of the essentials for babies. Vests. grows, pram suits, blankets etc. In my opinion the kind of clothes new babies should be in. Soft, comfortable, breathable cotton. No fuss. They also do maternity items, including pyjamas...

The pjs in question were £28. for me this is a lot for pyjamas unless they are something special, which they are. The stretch cotton fabric is so unbelievably soft they're an absolute pleasure to put on. Overall make is great, no threads or loose stitching. The fit is  right up my street; really baggy bottoms, long top and nursing clips on the straps. I am a UK size 10-12 and I bought a medium, they're really baggy on me which is great as I'm not the smallest in pregnancy so these will last me.
Only negative I would say is the delivery charge of £4.95, which was the cheapest option and seems steep. I would like a pound or two off this. That said, they came very fast and when I read their "our story" page I see they ship all items within 24 hours of receiving an order, impressive.
Finally I am a sucker for little extras. I've paid a significant amount for my jammies so I am pleased to see little extras and retailers can underestimate how enjoyable this makes the overall purchasing experience. So it was really nice to see these arrive is a pretty spotty bag and wrapped in lovely tissue paper. Especially lovely if you were going to order from here as a gift.

Thank you The Essential One... I will be back shortly for some of those scrumptious looking baby bits... I plan to wave this set under Steve's nose this evening... Wish me luck! :D
