Nuby Toy Product Test...

We have had a couple of weeks with our box of Nuby goodies and I can report our newly appointed Chief of Product Testing has been hard at play work testing out some super bits! Here are a few of my favourite snaps of them...

(FYI Pasta sauce stain on t-shirt is not included with either of these items)

The "Ding a Ling"... HOURS of fun innuendo bingo on that one... 
(Though at this particular moment she would rather try and kill herself on the stairs OBVIOUSLY.)

Now this apparently is a little teething must have... I hadn't noticed before but nearly ALL my NCT ladies have one!

"These tethers don't work" she says "Cos I still haven't got any!" ;)

In all seriousness these are all great products. I like that they're small enough to throw two or three in the nappy bag for outings. I like that they're unisex because we will get more use should Wee-Alexander 2 ever make an appearance and be of the blue variety. I also like that they're unisex for all those very trendy and intelligent views I try to have on gender-reinforcement. They're interesting, colourful and made up of tons of different textures. I also think they're well made, we're yet to see them stand the test of time but whatever stitches or glues that are holding the bits together just appears tough and tidy.

Playing Mumma Nurse...

Baby girl has a cold. This means a lot of indoor time. A lot of cuddles. A lot of "rod-for-my-own-back-making" naps on my lap. Blocked up and off her food has meant a glimpse back to her newborn days of endless breastfeeding sessions.

In short, this week, I've got down time.

Notes (lessons) on her first proper "illness":

i. It must be AWFUL to have a cold and not be able to blow your nose. AWFUL!

ii. Euna resembles a ferret having it's teeth brushed when you try and wipe her nose. She HATES it.

iii. I now get why my Dad used to always say "I wish I could have it for you". At the time I thought "IDIOT! He MUST be lying, no sane person would inflict this upon themselves voluntarily!!" Turns out you would for your kids. Ten fold.

iv. Nothing works. Not really. Not significantly. The only thing capsules, drops, rubs, oils, nasal sprays and syrups achieve is making you feel like you've done something.

v. Calpol is STILL yummy at 28. Is there a Mum out there who can HONESTLY say they don't lick the spoon after administering a dose?

So in attempt to escape total cabin fever we've tried (in vain) to blow these germs away with cool, crisp Novemeber air... Winter is coming...

Tuesday 10... First 10 things I would buy if I won the lottery...

(Before I start CHECK OUT MY FIRST BLOG HOP CO-HOST BELOW!!!!!)

LOVE a Tuesday 10 and this one is a goodie... First 10 things I would buy if I won the lottery... Now I'm not in the camp of "Oh I wouldn't need millions, just enough to pay off the the mortgage..." That kind of thinking is for the unimaginative among us! Why be humble when you can buy helicopters?!!

So here is my list...

1) A Canon 1D X (to non-camera-geeks this translates to an INSANELY EXCESSIVELY good camera)... Wait a minute I'VE JUST WON MILLIONS?! I'll take two.

2) A Canon 5D Mark iii... Given number 1 you ask why? Because I can. And because it's smaller. Now yes I will have staff to carry my camera gear but this is in the event they all take the day off and I have to carry my own shiz.

3) A house. A BIG house. I have always said I didn't want a period house because as a couple we suck at DIY... But I've just won't he lottery so I can pay for people to do that too.

4) A cook. Preferably Jamie Oliver. And if my marriage were survive his employment I would also need a lobotomy to rid me of my Frontal Love Jamie Oliver Lobe.

5) A dance school. With a modest performance space.

6) An arts and crafts studio.

7) A photography studio with a dark room.

8) I would take my Mum to Texas and do one of those cattle trail holidays. 

9) Clothes. A LOT of clothes and a personal shopper to go with them. As the years go by I realise more and more... I am simply bad at fashion.

10) A cylon body so I could live long enough to take all the pictures, ride all the cattles trails, make all the art, dance all the dance and live all the life I need to! Oh and cylon bodies for all my friends and family too so they can do it all with me. :D

So I need to win ALL the lotteries but there's my list :D

Nuby Feeding Spoons Review

THROWING myself in to my new role as official Nuby Blogger with this first review for these Nuby Feeding Spoons with the greatest of enthusiasm today... SO enthusiastic that it never occurred to me that as a baby led weaner (yes American followers... WEANER... you may snigger) a FEEDING spoon may not be entirely suitable.

Regeardless I shall continue... What is a feeding spoon? It's a spoon you feed your baby with. 

What makes it a feeding spoon? A super long handle which has two major benefits. Firstly it keeps your fingers away from the sticky end and sticky chops and sticky fingers that linger around the sticky end. Secondly it means you can reach all the way to the bottom of the jar to get all the last little bits out. Brilliant!

Though this is not to say we can't make them work for self-feeding...

The handles are soft and gripable, the swirly pattern is nice, the colours are fun and the end that the food goes on is nice and shallow so baby can suck all the food off. These are clearly at the higher end of quality weaning gear. They're around £3-4 for 6, I did a little look around and that seems reasonable for a branded spoon.

Great! That's about as much as I can say about a spoon but suffice to say I am excited to be testing out these products!
