Forgiving Sunshine...

If I was being honest, I'd say we had a crappy Sunday. Neither part of this marriage had an ounce of patience for the day and we fought. One of the many good parts of these long summer days is when evenings look this good it's never too late to turn a crappy day around. Peace comes much easier against golden, leafy garden backdrops... 

 Chill. Eat. Sit down.

24 Weeks

 24 weeks! Congratulations Baby you've now graduated from a fetus to a baby in the eyes of the NHS!

Though you've been our baby from week 4 and that whisper of a faint line on the test...

I can report little but good things about week 24! Despite the heat I really don't think I am feeling much hotter than normal. Tummy's bigger. Wriggles are stronger. Kicks almost induce an "OOMPH!"  from me. I suspect I'm only a couple of weeks away from being able to position baby.

Time to get a move on now. Nursery decorating is booked for Thursday. I am enlisting the troops for dismantling and painting the wardrobe. Cot is in progress. Baby change unit needs handles. Crafty wall ideas are cooking.

Feeling good. There's a comfort that comes with 24 weeks. "Validation" the docs call it. There's no such thing as "out of the woods" when it comes to babies. But maybe this feels like a little break in the canopy.

5 Month Old Mollie

23 Weeks

Heart burn is less.

Feeling surprisingly well in the heat.

Still convinced boy.

Addicted to fruit with waves of needing salt.

Getting pins and needles if I lean on one side for too long.

Euna is starting to take an interest, though she can't quite make the B sound so the Baby is called Daddy... Either that or she's extremely confused about where it is Daddy goes to work.

I Feel "Fat"

There's little more subject to context than a female feeling "fat". Whilst I understand that; I feel fat. 

I feel big in my skin. Hefty. Wobbly. Wide. 

It might be in my head, it might be real, I suppose interpretation is in the eye of the beholder... But I feel fat.

That insecurity is a horrible thing too. It crawls over me, over my sunshine induced good mood buzz. I don't sit around and wallow in it, but it's there. Then I annoy myself because just feeling that goes against so much I believe in about self image, unrealistic expectations, pregnancy health, celebrity worship culture... So much stuff that clearly I only believe in for everyone else in the universe, except me. 

I should be version of perfect I spend a lot of time denying the existence of. 

Then I realise it's fine. It's one part hormones, two parts irrelevant because before I know it there'll be a time when I get what it was all for. This will shrink back in to the silly proportions it belongs in. 

In the meantime... We'll eat strawberries...

 Sit out...
Walk on grass and wear very little in the privacy of our own garden...

Smile at her... Because she doesn't know about any of this... (Yet?)

22 Weeks

Wriggle wriggle wriggle... Getting more and more convinced it's a boy... A live wire of a crash-em smash-em boy! I'm thinking foxes, anchors, yellow fisherman coats... A BOY?! What a game changer that'll be! Only 17 weeks till we know... :D :D :D

Blogger MIA...

2 photoshoots and a lot of sun and food are in the diary for this weekend so I sense I may be a bad blogger until Monday... Sit tight as I'll be back with so some scrummy baby girl shots from Saturday's shoots! 

Till then it's all impromptu friends and family...
